When is the best time to travel this journey?

We run it at its best from July to October. That is the shape of the year for this particular route rather than for Tanzania as a whole — the month-by-month guide sets out what the rest of the calendar looks like, and there is no month with nothing to see.

How fit do I need to be?

No particular fitness is needed. Days are spent in the vehicle with short walks at viewpoints and camps, and you set the pace.

Can this itinerary be changed?

Yes — it is a starting point, not a fixed package. Days can be added or dropped, the pace slowed, lodges moved up or down a tier, and the route reshaped around what you actually want to see. Tell us what you have in mind and we will rebuild it around you.

Is the vehicle private, or shared with other travellers?

Private by default — your own vehicle, your own driver-guide, and a pace nobody else sets. It costs more per person than a seat in a shared vehicle, and it is the single biggest difference in how a safari feels. If you would rather share to keep the cost down, say so and we will build it that way.

What is included in the price?

6 things are included and 4 are not, both listed in full above rather than summarised — park fees, the vehicle and your guide are in; international flights, visas and travel insurance are not. Everything we quote is per person, and the quotation itemises it again so nothing arrives as a surprise.

What do I pay, and when?

A 30% deposit confirms the booking and holds your dates. The balance is due 45 days before you travel. Nothing is due when you enquire — a quotation comes first, and you only pay once you are happy with it.

Is this suitable for children?

Accepted Answer

Usually yes, and the private vehicle is what makes it work — you stop when they need to stop. Most lodges take children from six, some from any age, and a few are adults-only. Tell us their ages at the start and we will only propose places that will genuinely welcome them.

How soon will I hear back?

Accepted Answer

Within a day, usually much sooner, and from a person rather than an autoresponder — referring to your dates, your group and what you told us you want to see. If you would rather talk it through, WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us.
